More than 70,000 disgruntled fans have signed a petition to keep Spider-Man with Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"After the news today that Sony walked away from their deal with Disney, I cannot in good faith stand by while Spider-man and his fans around the world become collateral damage," Nate Phillips, who created the Change.org petition, wrote in the description. "Spider-man in the MCU has brought some of the best moments in modern cinema history. SONY you must let go of this property or renegotiate with Disney to keep all of the fans happy."

The petition continued: "Please join me in standing against Sony who I'll be boycotting until this matter is properly resolved. Share this petition and let's make our voices heard!"

At the time of this article's publication, the petition garnered more than 73,000 signatures out of its 75,000 goal.

In related fan activism, thousands of people have pledged to "storm Sony and bring Spider-Man home to the MCU." The Facebook page for the event is hosted by William Young, Ian Farr, and Mackenzie Hobbs.

The events will take place outside Sony's offices in New York and California on Saturday, October 19.

The event description reads: "We storm Sony Pictures in solidarity dressed in Spider-Man costumes and bring our boy home! This is a peaceful demonstration and violence will not be tolerated."

At the time of publication, 7,000 people said they would be participating while more than 5,000 people expressed interest.

On Tuesday, Deadline reported that Sony and Disney were unable to reach a financial agreement regarding Spider-Man. Disney reportedly asked for 50/50 cofinancing in future "Spider-Man" films, which Sony turned down. As a result, the Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, won't produce any future "Spider-Man" films and Tom Holland's webslinger won't be able to appear in the MCU.

Sony counteracted with a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, which was later posted on the studio's Twitter account, which placed the blame for the split on Marvel.

"We are disappointed, but respect Disney's decision not to have [Feige] continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film," Sony said.

"We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him — including all their newly added Marvel properties — do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own," the studio continued. "Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue."

Sony has owned the film rights to Spider-Man (and related characters like Venom and Moribus) since 1998. Holland's version of the superhero introduced in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War" was made possible by a deal Sony and Marvel reached in 2015.

The past "Spider-Man" franchises, which starred Tobey Maguire and then Andrew Garfield, were led solely by Sony, without input from Marvel/Disney. With Sony still owning and distributing 2017's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and its sequel, "Spider-Man: Far From Home," the character could still be part of the MCU.

In 2019, Holland starred in "Avengers: Endgame" and "Far From Home." Both movies hit $1 billion at the box office, and "Far From Home" became Sony's highest-grossing movie of the year.

Last we saw Kit Harington, the"Game of Thrones" star's Jon Snow character ended that HBO series with a walk north of The Wall into the forest with the Free Folk Wildlings, his punishment for slaying his mad queen lover, Daenerys Targaryen. So where did he go?

Deadline hears it is to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he will make his next film. Sources said that Harington will join one of Marvel and Kevin Feige's superhero franchises. All of Marvel and Disney is busy with the D23 Expo this weekend in Anaheim. I was unable to figure out which film, and nobody was around to elaborate, which they probably wouldn't anyway. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if some of those details are filled in before the weekend is out. Stay tuned.

"[They're] a group of immortals who have been on Earth for 35,000 years. They've been there amongst the MCU," said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige earlier this summer at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Jack Kirby comic introduces three different groups of beings that were created by celestial Gods: the Deviants (a group that was constantly at war), humans, and the immortal Eternals, of which there are more than 30.

Harington's character isn't an Eternal. Instead, Whitman becomes a hero known as Black Knight.

In the film, Harington will reunite with his former "Game of Thrones" costar, Richard Madden, who was announced to play Ikaris, one of the leaders of the Eternals.

May 1, 2020: "Black Widow"

The Hollywood Reporter reported last July that Cate Shortland ("Lore") would direct the solo movie.

Spider Man Far From Home Sony

  • "Spider-Man: Far From Home" actor Tom Holland appeared at Disney's biannual D23 Expo in Anaheim, California Saturday to talk about his new Pixar movie, "Onward."
  • He also took a moment to address fans who have been worried that his character Spider-Man will be leaving the MCU.
  • "I want to let you know I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart. I love you 3,000," Holland said.
  • After the panel, Holland told Entertainment Weekly he plans to keep playing Spidey no matter what the future holds. Without saying too much he mentioned the "future for Spider-Man" will be different.
  • Friday, at the D23 Expo, "Lion King" director and "Spider-Man: Far From Home" actor Jon Favreau told ET he's "cautiously optimistic" that Spidey will stay in the MCU.
  • Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

Tom Holland knows that fans are worried that his beloved Spider-Man character could leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he wants them to know he's thinking of them.

"It's been a crazy week, but I want to let you know I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart. I love you 3,000,"said Holland Saturday morning at Disney's D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Holland appeared at the Walt Disney Studios' presentation for its upcoming movies. The "Spider-Man: Far From Home" actor was in attendance to promote next year's Pixar movie, "Onward," in which he'll star alongside Chris Pratt.

"It's been five amazing years. I've had the time of my life," Holland told Entertainment Weekly after the Disney Studios' panel.

"Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I'm going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life," he continued. "It's going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we'll find new ways to make it even cooler."

On Tuesday, Deadline reported Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures couldn't agree on new terms to co-produce future movies. In a statement to our sister site, Business Insider, Sony Pictures said much of the news about Spider-Man had "mischaracterized" the company's recent discussions with Marvel and the studio's president Kevin Feige moving forward.

"We are disappointed, but respect Disney's decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film. We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him — including all their newly added Marvel properties — do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own," Sony Pictures said.

If some of that's confusing to you, what you need to know is that Sony Pictures has the rights to distribute and make Spider-Man movies.

In 2015, the studio partnered with Disney and Marvel Studios (who puts out the "Avengers" movies, "Guardians of the Galaxy," etc.) to produce the last two Spider-Man movies. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios was able to use Spidey in the MCU (aka "Captain America: Civil War" and the last two "Avengers" movies).

A potential fallout between Marvel and Sony doesn't sound great for either company when it comes to the character moving forward. But Jon Favreau, who plays Iron Man's right-hand man, Happy Hogan, and the love interest of Aunt May (Spidey's aunt), is hopeful Spidey will stay in the MCU.

In an interview with ET's Ash Crossan at D23 Expo on Friday, Favreau said he's "cautiously optimistic" that everything will work out, eventually.

"What happens to Happy and May? Well, I guess Happy's single again," said Favreau of what happens to his character if Spidey is out of the MCU, half jokingly.

"You know, it's still early days," Favreau said more seriously about the Sony/Marvel Spider-Man deal. "As a fan, I'm cautiously hopeful that something will come together because I think all the fans want to see those characters together. I don't mean Happy and May, I mean Spidey with the MCU."

"What you read isn't always indicative of where things are at now," he added. "As a fan, I'm cautiously optimistic, holding out hope that this isn't the final chapter of this story."

  • On Friday, Disney confirmed that it will be debuting an entire Marvel-themed area of its park and announced that it will be called "Avengers Campus."
  • This park is set to open in summer 2020 and this news comes from inside the D23 Expo, a yearly showcase about Disney-Parks news.
  • This section of the park will be an extension of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" tower ride that was launched back in 2017 and it will take up parts of the now-defunct "A Bug's Land."
  • Disney Parks held a presentation Sunday revealing more about Avengers Campus. You can see more concept art and read about the upcoming Spider-Man ride here.

On Friday, Disney confirmed that it has a new Marvel-centric attraction coming to Disneyland's California Adventure in 2020 — and it's called the "Avengers Campus."

This Marvel-focused land is scheduled to open next summer, and this news comes from inside of the D23 Expo, a biannual showcase filled with Disney-Parks announcements.

Here's everything we know so far about the Avengers Campus.

The park is an extension of 2017's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' ride and is set to include 'Avengers' training grounds

D23 art Kirsten Acuna

The new "Avengers" training grounds are described on the D23 blog as places where guests can "become part of an interconnected, global story spanning from California to Paris to Hong Kong, as the Avengers recruit new extraordinary people to join them."

Disney hasn't announced which Marvel heroes will be featured in the park, but concept art already has fans speculating

D23 marvel designs

The official announcement did not specify exactly which heroes would be making appearances at the themed area, but after seeing some concept art, many are already speculating thatHawkeye will be there as well as Black Panther, Captain America, the Dora Milaje, and other Marvel characters who have been spotted at Disney parks in the past.

And, based on the sketches we have so far, it looks like Spider-Man will very likely be making an appearance at the "Avengers Campus."

The park is taking over the now-defunct 'A Bug's Land' and will reportedly feature a microbrewery, retail center, and meet-and-greet area for superheroes

As for where they will land on the map of Disney California Adventure, CNET reports that the new attractions are an extension the "Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!" tower ride that launched back in 2017. The new attraction will also cover what was formerly "A Bug's Land."

According to an earlier report from the Los Angeles Times, Disney has already applied for permits for a retail center, microbrewery, and a meet-and-greet area for it's coming Marvel-centric land.

  • "Avengers Campus" is a massive expansion coming to Disneyland's California Adventure (DCA) next year.
  • Insider is at Disney's biannual D23 Expo in Anaheim, California where the chairman of Disney Parks, Bob Chapek, broke down everything fans can expect to see in the new themed area.
  • In addition to the Avengers HQ and a Spider-Man ride, fans will be able to eat at an "Ant-Man"-themed restaurant.
  • Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

A massive Marvel expansion is coming to Disneyland California Adventure (DCA) and Disneyland Paris next year.

After previewing the upcoming Avengers Campus Thursday night to select guests and media, chairman of Disney Parks, Bob Chapek broke down everything fans can expect from the new area.

"They're actual campuses set up by the Avengers to recruit the next generation of superheroes," said Chapek at Disney's biannual D23 Expo Sunday morning at the Anaheim Convention Center.

DCA will have one more additional ride than Disneyland Paris when Avengers Campus is complete.

Keep reading to see everything that will be in the new Marvel area at Disneyland California Adventure next year.

This is Avengers Campus.

According to a display at D23 Expo, Campus is an acronym which stands for "Centralized Assembly Mobilized to Prepare, Unite, and Safeguard."

The idea behind the land is to inspire heroes to defend the world.

If you're familiar with the layout of DCA, here's where it will be on a map.

The Avengers Campus will extend past Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, which replaced the Tower of Terror in 2017. The new Marvel section replaces the "A Bug's Land" section that used to be in the park, based on Pixar film "A Bug's Life."

Avengers Campus will be located at both DCA and Disneyland Paris.

"These campuses are going to be linked together in a global story," said Chapek.

Avengers Campus will have the first Spider-Man themed attraction at a Disney park.

"Through a combination of classic effects and innovative technologies, guests will be able to sling webs, just like Spider-Man, in an interactive, totally cool, but family-friendly adventure," said Chapek.

The attraction will be hosted inside of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (or W.E.B.).

Portfolio creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering Scott Drake told the crowd W.E.B. is an organization the Disney Imagineering team developed alongside comic and film creators.

"W.E.B. will be home to our incredible Spider-Man experience," said Drake. "It just so happens that Peter Parker is one of the many inspiring inventors at W.E.B."

The ride will follow guests as they check out an open house at W.E.B. with Peter Parker and others.

"We will be welcome to an open house where the kids are excited to invite us for a test drive of their latest invention — the web slinger vehicle, which allows anyone to sling webs just like Peter's buddy, Spider-Man," said Drake.

That's not all.

Parker has also been working on some new Spider-bots. That's where things on the ride start to go awry.

"Unfortunately, they are not ready for prime time at all," said Drake.

"Smack in the middle of the open house excitement the Spider-bots start glitching, replicating themselves over and over again, and escape out into the campus," he added of what guests will experience on the ride.

Guests will get inside these vehicles to stop all of the little Spider-Bots from causing mayhem.

"Our test drive of the webslinger vehicle instead turns into a real mission where we must work alongside Spider-Man to web up all these bots," said Drake.

The Pym Test Kitchen is a restaurant that will be located inside the campus.

"For the first time ever, these campuses will give you a chance to meet Ant-Man and the Wasp," said Chapek.

They won't be the only superheroes you see at Avengers Campus. Chapek said you'll also be able to see and interact with Black Panther, Thor, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man. Loki may even pop up.

Speaking of Doctor Strange, guests will also be able to learn about the mystic arts from the Sorcerer Supreme.

Drake said you'll get to explore the ruins of a mysterious California Sanctum with Strange.

From concept art Insider saw at D23 Expo, it looks like Doctor Strange will be part of a live-action show where he'll "help you unravel the mysteries of the multiverse."

DCA will have an additional ride in the future which will let fans board the Quinjet plan seen below.

Chapek said the second ride will be part of a "Phase 2" at Avengers Campus.

"Opening as part of the second phase of development, will be an all-new adventure that will put guests, or should I say all of you recruits, into a test... alongside the Avengers," said Chapek.

The second attraction will fly guests to Black Panther's home of Wakanda where they'll fight alongside the Avengers.

"We'll find ourselves caught up in an even bigger adventure, one where we all have to step up, suit up, and team up alongside the Avengers in an epic battle to save our world against one of the most powerful villains they've ever faced," said Chapek.

Chapek did not reveal who that villain will be. Knowing that a "Black Panther" sequel is coming in 2022, we're willing to bet it may be a villain from that film.

Read more:Marvel just announced all of its movies for the next 3 years — here they all are

The ride won't just show you the Avengers battling the villains. Chapek says you'll be right there with the heroes.

"Our imagineers are hard at work conceiving an all-new innovative ride system to put you in the middle of the action," said Chapek.

Avengers Campus will open at DCA in Anaheim, California next year.

Chapek did not say when it will be open in Disneyland Paris.

Disney is entering the streaming war this year with its Netflix rival, Disney Plus.

On top of Disney's already extensive library of content, it is developing many original shows and movies for the platform, including three live-action "Star Wars" shows and eight Marvel TV series spinning out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The service will cost subscribers $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year ($5.83 per month) when it launches on November 12.

Below are the confirmed projects in development for Disney Plus, including which ones will be available on launch day:

What Tom Holland's 'Avengers' costars are saying about Spider-Man leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe

"Spider-Man" fans aren't the only ones expressing their sadness over the news that the superhero might not return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Some of the "Avengers" stars — including Jon Favreau, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan — shared their thoughts about Tom Holland's Spider-Man possibly not returning to the MCU due to Sony and Disney's financial impasse.

See what seven Marvel stars have said about the news.

"Thor: Ragnarok's" Jeff Goldblum said he was "crestfallen" to hear that Spider-Man might not return to the MCU at the D23 Expo.

In a now-viral clip, a Variety reporter tried explaining the Sony and Disney deal to Goldblum on Friday, but the actor seemed just as confused after hearing the details.

"I'm not a business person, whatever you say is Greek to me," Goldblum said after making some inexplicable sounds.

He then added with a smile, "It'll all work out, I'm sure. Good luck... They'll figure it out."

Jon Favreau is holding out hope that all the MCU characters "continue to share the screen together."

Favreau, who plays Happy Hogan in the "Avengers" and "Spider-Man" films, told Variety that he's "being optimistic" about the cinematic future of the superheroes.

"We've all read rumors, we've all read press releases, but you never know what's going to happen," he said during the D23 Expo red carpet. "I'm holding out hope and being optimistic that this isn't the final chapter of that story between those characters."

Favreau, who has executive produced some of the Marvel movies, made sure to specify what he meant, adding, "I don't just mean Happy and Aunt May, I mean Tom Holland, Spidey and the other heroes from the MCU."

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan took a more comical approach, but assured that Holland will always be special to the MCU.

During an interview with Variety at the D23 Expo, Mackie and Stan, who will star together in the upcoming Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," brought up "little Tom" all on their own.

When talking about the upcoming series, Mackie simultaneously joked about his costar and mentioned the Spider-Man actor.

"Sebastian [Stan] is a great guy, if all else fails, we can just try and kill Tom Holland," Mackie said, causing Stan to laugh out loud.

But Mackie assured that they "will always have little Tom" in their hearts.

Stan then winked at the camera and sang a snippet of Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind" for Holland.

Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen said they were "sad" about the Spider-Man deal.

After talking about their upcoming Disney+ series, "WandaVision,"with Variety, Olsen proved to be more outspoken about the Spider-Man news than her costar Bettany, who portrays Vision.

"It really is sad. First off, he's the greatest Spider-Man to me. He actually has that youthful energy,"Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, said. "He's been incredible. It's been really lucky that we've been able to work with him. I think it's a big loss and it's really too bad."

She also joked about "starting a petition online"— but probably wasn't aware of the one that fans already started on Thursday, which has garnered over 130,000 signatures.

Jeremy Renner was the first "Avengers" actor to speak out after news of the Sony and Disney deal fell through.

Renner, known for playing Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the superhero franchise, shared a photo of his character on his Instagram and captioned the post with his thoughts about the news.

"Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #🏹 #please," Renner wrote.

During Disney's D23 Expo event in Anaheim, California this weekend, the company announced a new slate of TV shows coming to its streaming service Disney Plus starting this fall.

Five of the shows will be available right away on November 12, 2019 — the day the streaming service officially launches. For the rest, some approximate premiere dates have been announced while others are still in pre-production stages.

According to a report from TV Line, the new shows will be released one episode at a time on a weekly basis (instead of the full-season drop style Netflix employs for most of its programming).

Keep reading to see the full list of 19 new TV shows planned for Disney Plus.

"Monsters at Work" is a sequel series which picks up after the events of "Monsters, Inc."

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

Starring Ben Feldman and Aisha Tyler as monsters named "Tylor" and "Millie," this series follows a recent graduate from Monsters University who spent his college days training to scare children.

But just as Tylor arrives to work at the scream factory, the system is switched over to laugh-power (thanks to  the events of Pixar's "Monsters Inc." movie).

Mike and Sulley (Billy Crystal and John Goodman) will have "special appearances" on the show, but the storyline will mainly center around a new cast of monsters as they navigate the new system prioritizing comedy over scariness.

"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" takes the Disney Channel movie narrative into meta territory.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: November 12, 2019

In real life, Disney's "High School Musical" was filmed at a school called East High. So in the 10-episode scripted series coming to Disney Plus, the story follows a group of 2019 high-schoolers at East High who decide to put on their own production of "High School Musical: The Musical."

Disney is rebooting the Lizzie McGuire character for a new show about Lizzie's life as a millennial working in New York City.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

Bringing back "The Lizzie McGuire Show" creator Terri Minsky and star Hilary Duff, this new series shows our main character all grown up.

Lizzie is now 30 years old and living in New York City working her "dream job" as an "apprentice to a fancy decorator." Duff told the D23 Expo crowd that the little animated 13-year-old Lizzie will still be present and constantly talking inside the mind of the now-adult Lizzie.

"Forky Asks A Question" is a new collection of Pixar shorts all starring the "Toy Story 4" character.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: November 12, 2019

Forky, voiced by "Veep" and "Arrested Development" actor Tony Hale, is a toy made from trash who deals with existential anxiety regarding his creation and existence throughout "Toy Story 4."

Now, in a series of 10 short films, Forky will speak with other Pixar characters about how the world works.

In the episode previewed by Insider during the D23 Expo panel, Forky asks Ham (the "Toy Story" piggy bank character) an important question: "What is money?"

"Muppets Now" is a new "unscripted" series starring Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, and the rest of the Muppets.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

Few details about this show were announced during the D23 Expo panel, other than its existence and title. Instead of a trailer, Disney showed a video of Kermit bickering with a Muppet lawyer about all the things he wasn't allowed to say about the new show.

Disney so far is only promising "a new kind of mayhem and laughter" with this short-form series.

Disney Plus is adding other unscripted shows, including "The World According to Jeff Goldblum."

When it premieres on Disney Plus: November 12, 2019

If you've ever wanted to watch Jeff Goldblum wander around the world and ask people questions about tattoo artistry, synchronized swimming, ice cream, jewelry, and more, then you're in luck. "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" is a 12-episode series following the actor on his own personal adventures.

This reality/documentary-esque series is a National Geographic production which is part of the November 12 rollout on Disney Plus.

"Encore" is the first reality series premiering on Disney Plus, and it's all about musical theater nerds.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: November 12, 2019

Kristen Bell ("Frozen,""The Good Place") is the executive producer and host of a new reality series on Disney Plus which brings high school theater performers back to the stage for a — you guessed it — encore.

Bell and the "Encore" team found people of all ages who once starred in high school musical productions. Now the former-performers will recreate the theater productions on stage again, sometimes singing in public for the first time in decades.

The first Disney Plus original of 2020 will be "Diary of a Female President."

When it premieres on Disney Plus: January 2020

Gina Rodriguez ("Jane the Virgin") is the executive producer and "recurring guest star" on the new series starring Tess Romero.

"Told using the narration from her diary, this half-hour single camera comedy follows 12-year-old Cuban-American girl Elena's journey through the trials of middle school, which set her on the path to ultimately become president of the United States," Disney's press release says.

Now onto the "Star Wars" shows. The first major series will be "The Mandalorian," coming November 12, 2019.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: November 12, 2019

"The Mandalorian" is Disney's first live-action "Star Wars" series, and it follows a bounty hunter in the "outer reaches of the galaxy." According to a timeline shown during the D23 Expo panel, "The Mandalorian" takes place after the events of "Return of the Jedi."

The series stars Pedro Pascal ("Game of Thrones"), MMA fighter and actress Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito ("Breaking Bad"), and more.

Disney also teased a currently unnamed "Star Wars" prequel series about Cassian Andor and the droid K-2SO.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

Stars Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk are reprising their roles from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" for a series about the rebel spy and droid's years spent in the Rebellion before the events of "Rogue One" and "A New Hope."

Ewan McGregor will also reprise his "Star Wars" role for a prequel series about Obi Wan Kenobi.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy officially confirmed Ewan McGregor's return to the "Star Wars" universe "after secrets and fibs and not being able to talk about it" for years.

The live-action prequel series will follow Obi Wan in the same time period that "Solo: A Star Wars Story" takes place (which means it will be in the timeline following the events of "Revenge of the Sith"— the last "Star Wars" movie McGregor appeared in).

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is the first new Marvel series set to premiere on Disney Plus.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: Fall 2020

Set after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," this series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier.

As revealed in the closing minutes of "Endgame," Sam Wilson will be the new Captain America now that Steve Rogers retired from heroism in the current timeline. In the new show, Wilson and Bucky Barnes will be forced to team up and we'll learn more about their characters.

"WandaVision" is a mysterious new show described as "half classic sitcom, half Marvel Cinematic Universe [MCU] spectacular."

When it premieres on Disney Plus: Spring 2021

Few details about the actual plot of "WandaVision" are known, but Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen will definitely be returning as Vision and Wanda for this "wacky and fun" series. The teaser shown during D23 hinted at a link between "The Dick Van Dyke Show" sitcom from the 1960s and the superheroes features in the MCU.

Kat Dennings and Randall Park will reprise their roles from the MCU's "Thor" and "Ant-Man and The Wasp," and actress Kathryn Hahn who has been cast as a "nosy neighbor" character.

"Loki" will follow everyone's favorite god of mischief in the events after "Avengers: Endgame" when he disappeared with the Tesseract.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: Spring 2021

While the heroic Avengers were messing with timelines in "Endgame," the Loki from the first "Avengers" movie grabbed the Tesseract and vanished. Where did he go? We'll find out when "Loki" premieres on Disney Plus in 2021.

"What If...?" is a new Marvel animated series that asks how the events we've already seen in the MCU movies might have worked out differently with one small change.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: Summer 2021

Many of the stars we've come to know in the MCU are returning to voice their characters for this animated anthology series. Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter in the "Captain America" movies, came out during the D23 Expo panel to tease one episode in which Peggy is the one turned into a super-soldier instead of Steve Rogers.

"Captain Carter" is just one possibility of many which will be explored in "What If...?" starting in 2021.

"Hawkeye" is the first MCU spinoff to focus on Clint Barton's character.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: Fall 2021

The "Hawkeye" series will show us more of what happened to Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, after Thanos' devastating snap in "Avengers: Infinity War." We'll also see more of Kate Bishop, Barton's daughter who is starting to follow in her dad's footsteps.

In the comics, Bishop takes up the mantle of Hawkeye (a narrative teased in the beginning scene of "Avengers: Endgame").

"Ms. Marvel" is about a 16-year-old Pakistani-American girl from New Jersey named Kamala Khan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Ms. Marvel" will be written by British writer Bisha K. Ali, who is also acting as showrunner.

Last but not least, "She Hulk" will come to to Disney Plus.

When it premieres on Disney Plus: TBA

"Avengers: Endgame" was one of the biggest films of 2019, earning more than $1 billion at the box office.

The film — a culmination of a decade of Marvel movies — featured time travel, heartbreaking moments, and a major battle sequence.

Larger-than-life moments were made possible through the use of computer-generated imagery, or CGI, and other special effects. And often, the most exciting scenes in the movie were filmed in front of a green screen.

In a new video shared by Marvel Entertainment, the "Endgame" visual-effects supervisor Dan DeLeeuw broke down the film's major battle sequence with Ryan Penagos.

  • On Saturday at the D23 Expo, Disney announced the cast of Marvel Studios' "The Eternals." In this announcement, it was confirmed that Gemma Chan will play the character Sersi.
  • Chan recently played an entirely different character in "Captain Marvel," making her the fifth actor to play more than one character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • Here's a look at the five actors who switched roles in the MCU, and who they played.
  • Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

During a panel at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California on Saturday morning, Disney announced the cast of their upcoming Marvel Studios movie, "The Eternals." The announcement included some major names that fans have been waiting to see join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, like Angelina Jolie, and "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harrington.

But to some sharp-eared Marvel fans, one name stuck out: Gemma Chan, who was cast as Sersi, a member of the immortal Eternals. Although this will be Sersi's first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this isn't Chan's first appearance — in 2018, she played alongside Brie Larson in "Captain Marvel" as a completely different character.

Chan isn't the only actor to return to the Marvel scene as a different character. In fact, Saturday's casting announcement marks her as the fifth actor to appear as more than one character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here are all five actors who have played multiple characters, and who they played.

Chan is the latest actor to take on two roles in the MCU.

She'll be playing Sersi, an immortal sorceress with the power to transform any object or person, as well as super strength and flight.

Gemma Chan first appeared in 2018's "Captain Marvel."

In "Captain Marvel," Chan played Minn-Erva, an expert sniper and a member of Starforce, an elite group of Kree soldiers. She's a partner of Brie Larson's character Carol Danvers — at least, until Danvers betrays the group after recovering her memories. Minn-Erva is later killed while trying to shoot down a ship of Skrull refugees.

Alfre Woodard stars in the Marvel Netflix series "Luke Cage."

Alfre Woodard starred for two seasons as the criminal mastermind Mariah Dillard on "Luke Cage." Known as Black Mariah, she was the owner of nightclub Harlem's Paradise, and made her name as a major figure in New York politics — all the while ordering assassinations and funneling stolen money into her bank account.

Alfre Woodard also appeared in "Captain America: Civil War."

In 2016, Alfre Woodard also appeared as a minor character in "Captain America: Civil War"— so minor, in fact, that she's not even given a name in the movie! Woodard's character is a government employee who meets with Tony Stark early in the film, and blames him for the death of her son. This conversation later inspires Stark to support the superhero-control law known as the Sokovia Accords.

Mahershala Ali will appear in "Blade."

Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali, best known for his roles in the movies "Moonlight" and "Green Book," will be starring as the titular character in "Blade," an upcoming MCU film. Blade is a vampire hunter who uses a variety of weapons and tools to defeat his foes. A trilogy of Blade films were previously released in the late '90s and early '00s, but Ali will be playing a new version of the character.

"Blade" doesn't currently have a set release date, but it was confirmed to be in production at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2019.

Mahershala Ali previously starred on "Luke Cage."

Much like Woodard, Mahershala Ali first appeared on "Luke Cage," as the villain Cottonmouth. A crime lord and cousin to Mariah Dillard, Cottonmouth smuggled drugs and weapons across Harlem. He's later killed by Mariah Dillard after an argument.

Kenneth Choi was Captain America's sidekick in World War II.

Kenneth Choi is another actor who's appeared in more than one MCU movie. Choi made his debut in "Captain America: The First Avenger" as Jim Morita, a member of the Howling Commandos, an elite group of Allied soldiers in World War II. Morita fought alongside Captain America, and later helped him defeat the villainous organization HYDRA.

Kenneth Choi also played his own grandson in "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

In a first for multi-time MCU actors, Kenneth Choi went on to play his own family member! In "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Choi plays Principal Morita, the principal of the Midtown School of Science and Technology. Principal Morita also the grandson of Jim Morita, Choi's character in "Captain America." Principal Morita doesn't get much screen time, but we do get to see his office, which is filled with his grandfather's World War II memorabilia.

Stan Lee appeared in 22 Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Stan Lee, one of the most influential comic writers of all time, appeared in more Marvel Cinematic Universe films than anyone else in the world. He's made cameos in 22 out of 23 films, including two released after his death in 2018, as well as all the Marvel Netflix shows. Across 11 years of movies, Lee has played a bus driver, a bartender, a World War II veteran, and even a dimension-hopping astronaut.

Outside of the MCU, Lee has appeared in dozens of superhero films, television shows, cartoons, and video games — a fitting legacy for the man responsible for creating some of the world's most iconic comic characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the X-Men.

Here's what Disney Plus, the company's $7-a-month answer to Netflix, looks like when you open it for the first time (DIS, NFLX)

disney plus

Disney's huge new streaming service, Disney Plus, is almost here.

On November 12, Disney will roll out its Plus service to the US, Canada, and the Netherlands, adding Australia and New Zealand one week later, and more countries later on. It costs $6.99 a month, or $69.99 a year, though Disney is offering a discount that brings the cost down to around $4 a month if you sign up for three years before September 2.

Disney is promising the ability to stream Disney movies and TV shows, Marvel and Pixar movies, shows from National Geographic, the entirety of "The Simpsons," everything Star Wars, plus a bunch of original shows — like the revival of Disney Channel's Lizzie McGwire starring Hilary Duff and the documentary series "The World According to Jeff Goldblum."

Read more: How Disney Plus, HBO Max, and NBC's streaming service stack up in the battle against Netflix

But what is it actually going to be like to use Disney Plus? The Streamable, a website that provides in-depth testing for streaming services and phone plans, attended Disney's D23 Expo earlier this month and filmed the company's walkthrough of Disney Plus on an Apple TV, posting the results to YouTube. Thanks to The Streamable and Disney, we have a good idea of what to expect when Disney Plus launches later this year.

SEE ALSO: The biggest question mark about Apple's new TV service is price — and it's going to be a huge factor if Apple hopes to compete with Netflix and Disney Plus

Here's what you'll see when you boot up Disney Plus for the first time.

You can scroll along the very top to see featured items, like new movies like "Captain Marvel" or fan-favorites like "The Simpsons."

Below the top carousel of images are the five major categories of Disney Plus: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

Each of the categories have cute little animations when you hover over them. Pixar's shows clouds from "Toy Story" flying by ...

... while Disney's icon animates to show fireworks above Cinderella's castle.

When you click into any one of these categories, you'll see a brief animation ...

... before all the content appears below.

When you hover over a piece of content, like Disney's "Frozen," a brief trailer will auto-play at the top of the screen.

Thanks to the demo, we got to see a handful of titles confirmed for Disney Plus, including old favorites like "The Parent Trap" and "Steamboat Willie," as well as newer classics like "Moana,""Remember The Titans," and "Lilo and Stitch."

Similarly, we saw that Pixar will have almost every piece of content it's ever made available on Disney Plus, from features like "Inside Out" to shorts like "Bao" and original series like "Forky Asks A Question."

Disney has the full rights to Star Wars, so the company will feature every film in the main series, in order, right in the app. You can also watch any of the movie spin-offs or TV shows there, too.

Here's what the National Geographic page looks like: It's full of documentaries and shows that depict life on planet Earth.

We still don't know which Marvel movies will and won't be included at launch, but it won't include all 23 MCU titles at first. Still, most movies, and all of the original shows, will be there.

Here's what it looks like when you actually click a title. Here, you have the ability to play or pick up where you left off, or add the title to your watch list by clicking that plus sign. You can also read the movie's description, watch extras and see related movies at the bottom of the screen.

When you click "play" on a movie, you'll see the Disney Plus logo in the upper lefthand corner for a few seconds before it disappears.

Similar to Netflix, you'll have a sidebar on the left where you can jump to different sections, like movies and originals.

Here's what the Watchlist looks like. Pretty simple!

When you visit the Movies tab, you can filter by originals, alphabetical order, or genre. By default, Disney will show you featured films it wants you to see.

If you click the Series tab, you'll see similar filters to choose which TV show you want to watch.

It doesn't look like you'll get any filters when you visit the Disney Plus Originals tab, however, which just shows you a big grid of content to choose from.

The bottom-left part of the sidebar features settings, but the top-left portion features your user profile.

You just type your name and pick from a wide variety of icons from Disney's various properties.

Disney Plus offers up to seven different profiles on a single account.

Childrens' accounts are themed to be more playful: They use brighter colors and feature more options geared toward the younger crowd (even though the entire service is family-friendly).

All in all, Disney Plus should be familiar to anyone who uses Netflix; it even has similar row categories, like "Recommended For You," based off you viewing habits. The best part though: Anything on Disney Plus can be downloaded for offline viewing. Your only limitation is the storage on your device.

Kristen Stewart says she was told she might 'get a Marvel movie' if she hid her sexuality

  • In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, Kristen Stewart said she was once advised to "stop holding [her] girlfriend's hand in public" if she wanted to land a role in a Marvel film.
  • The "Charlie's Angel" star, who has been open about her fluid sexuality in the past, said she does not put a label on her sexuality.
  • Stewart said in the past she was private about her relationships and sexuality, but has since decided she wants to focus on enjoying her life instead of protecting parts of it.

In a recent interview, Kristen Stewart said she was once advised to hide her sexuality if she wanted to land a role in a Marvel film.

In an exclusive interview with Harper's Bazaar UK that was published on Monday, the actress said that she has previously been told that if she stopped having public displays of affection with a former girlfriend, she might land a role in the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Stewart said she doesn't label her sexuality, and wouldn't want to work with people who wouldn't give her a role because of that

"I have fully been told, 'If you just like do yourself a favor, and don't go out holding your girlfriend's hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie," Stewart said, not revealing the source of the advice or when it was given to her.

"I don't want to work with people like that," she added.

The actress, who has previously spoken about her fluid sexuality, told the publication that she doesn't label her sexuality.

Stewart said she's more comfortable opening up about her sexuality and relationships because she wants to 'enjoy' her life

Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart

Stewart said that back when she was dating "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson, "so much was taken from [them]" as they tried to control aspects of their relationship. She also added that they would "never talk about" the relationship in public because it belonged to them.

But now, the "Charlie's Angel" star said she has become comfortable being more open about her relationships after realizing it wasn't bringing her joy to keep them so quiet.

"I think I just wanted to enjoy my life," Stewart said, speaking about deciding to be more open about her love life. "And that took precedence over protecting my life, because in protecting it, I was ruining it."

"Like what, you can't go outside with who you're with? You can't talk about it in an interview? I was informed by an old-school mentality, which is — you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don't like you, and they don't like that you date girls, and they don't like that you don't identify as a quote-unquote 'lesbian,' but you also don't identify as a quote-unquote 'heterosexual,'" she added.

Stewart said she's no longer focused on protecting her sexuality, either.

"I just think we're all kind of getting to a place where — I don't know, evolution's a weird thing — we're all becoming incredibly ambiguous," she told the publication. "And it's this really gorgeous thing."

In the past, the 'Twilight' actress said she'd be on board with starring in a superhero film if it was 'the right thing'

Back in 2015, Stewart expressed interest in both DC and Marvel films, noting that she wants to continue to take chances with her roles.

"I love watching those movies,"she told Yahoo! Movies. "I would love to show people that I can do more than just be 'Kristen Stewart' in a different movie, in a different circumstance."

"I'm sure I could get on board with Captain America, you know what I mean?… it would just have to be the right thing," she added.

Scarlett Johansson opens up about Black Widow's 'Endgame' death: 'I was excited to die with honor'

avengers endgame natasha vormir death

Scarlett Johansson opened up about Black Widow's heartbreaking death that took place in "Avengers: Endgame."

"The finality of it was sad, but I was excited to die with honor," the actress said in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

In the film, Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff traveled to Vormir with Hawkeye/ Clint Barton (played by Jeremy Renner) so they could retrieve the Soul Stone as part of a "time heist" mission to get all six Infinity Stones and reverse Thanos' actions. In order for the heroes to get the stone, they had to sacrifice someone they love. After Clint and Natasha fought over who should die, the latter character sacrificed herself so the others could be brought back from the snap.

"It felt in-character that she would sacrifice herself, of course for humanity but actually for her friends, for the people she loves," Johansson, who learned about her character's fate prior to filming 2018's "Avengers: Infinity War," told THR. "It was bittersweet."

Johansson, who made her first appearance as Black Widow in 2010's "Iron Man 2" and will star in an upcoming standalone movie, previously spoke about the death of her character during an interview with Yahoo Entertainment at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

"I thought it would make it easier, and then when I was standing there with Renner on the edge of the cliff, it wasn't easy at all," Johansson said.

She continued: "It was really, really sad. I just felt overwhelmingly sad about it. It just felt like a big loss. So no, it didn't make it any easier … I'm pretty sentimental, so I'd go, 'Guys, this is it!' And they're like, 'You're getting your own film, it's fine.' But I was like, 'It's not the same.'"

"It's brutal and sad, and it's bittersweet," she added.

After fans saw "Endgame," many criticized the death of Natasha and called it controversial because it furthered the story lines of the male characters. Natasha's sacrifice was also significant because she was the first female Avenger.

In response to the backlash, screenwriter Christopher Markus said that it made more sense for Natasha to make the sacrifice, instead of Clint.

"With Clint it would be a tragic beat, because he wants to get back with his family and it would deny him that," he told SYFY WIRE . "With Natasha, it's sad, but it's a deeply heroic beat."

He added: "That this is what she's been fighting for. She went from red in her ledger to the absolute peak of heroism. You have to go to her every time. It's a bigger, more satisfying, more monumental story beat."

Fans will get to see Johansson reprise her superhero role in "Black Widow," which hits theaters on May 1, 2020 and focuses on Natasha's life following the events of "Captain America: Civil War." She'll be joined by David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz in the film.

Scarlett Johansson is getting paid as much for 'Black Widow' as her male Marvel costars — more than $15 million

Scarlett Johansson will be making more than $15 million for next year's "Black Widow" solo movie, putting her on par with the paydays of her "Avengers" costars Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.

"Money is a taboo topic of conversation," Johansson told the Hollywood Reporter. "But I will say that, yes, I'm on an equal playing field with my male cohorts."

Earlier this spring, THR reported Johansson's salary for starring and producing in the spinoff would be a bit higher, in the $20 million range. Johannson is also getting to weigh in on the script and casting decisions.

It's not one the first time Johansson would be receiving equal pay to her male Marvel costars. In 2015, Variety reported Johansson was paid "roughly" the same amount as Evans and Hemsworth for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (the second "Avengers" film).

Johansson is one of the top-leading women in Hollywood. She was recently named the highest-paid actress of the year by Forbes, earning an estimated $56 million. According to Forbes, Johansson received about an additional $35 million for "Avengers: Endgame" in back-end pay for the movie's $2.8 billion box-office haul.

The actress was also the highest-paid actress of 2018 and the top-grossing actress in 2016 by Forbes

scarlett johansson

"I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I'm proud to be an actress who's making as much as many of my male peers at this stage,"Johansson told the Cosmopolitan in 2016.

"I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I'm addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious," she added.

Pay disparity is an issue for women in all industries, but Hollywood has really taken notice of the problem in recent years. Four-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams was reportedly paid eight times less than her costar Mark Walhberg for "All the Money in the World," even though the two shared about an equal amount of screen time. Wahlberg donated his $1.5 million earnings from movie reshoots to the Time's Up campaign.

In addition to Johansson, Charlize Theron, Ellen Pompeo ("Grey's Anatomy"), Kaley Cuoco ("The Big Bang Theory" and "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood's" Margot Robbie are among the women who command big paychecks in Hollywood

Cuoco was making a reported $1 million per episode of CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" until the final season where she agreed on a pay cut to help her female costars Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik earn more.

Johansson will next be seen in this fall's "Jojo Rabbit.""Black Widow"will be in theaters May 1, 2020

  • Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige announced six upcoming Marvel movies at San Diego Comic-Con.
  • One of them will introduce a new group of superheroes called the Eternals.
  • The movie, starring Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Richard Madden, will be in theaters Friday, November 6, 2020.
  • The new film is gender-swapping a few of the original characters, including Ajax and Sprite.
  • INSIDER breaks down what you should know about the new superhero group and the characters each actor will be playing.

Marvel announced its upcoming movies for the next two years at San Diego Comic-Con and a lot of new characters are about to be introduced to the MCU.

Among the new movies announced for next year is "The Eternals," starring Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, and more. If you're not familiar with the comics, you're probably wondering what you should know about this new group of super-powered beings.

"[They're] a group of immortals who have been on Earth for 35,000 years. They've been there amongst the MCU," said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con.

Introduced in 1976, the Jack Kirby comic introduces three different groups that were created by celestial Gods: the Deviants (a group that was constantly at war), humans, and the immortal Eternals, of which there are more than 30. Over the years, there have been several iterations of the characters.

Feige announced eight of the Eternals who will be in the upcoming movie at SDCC and an additional three characters at Disney's D23 Expo in August. A lot of the characters are gender-swapped from their original versions. Since they're all cut from the same cloth, the majority of them all have similar superhuman abilities, including super strength and the ability to fly.

From Richard Madden to Angelina Jolie, keep reading to meet the cast and see who they will be playing next fall.

"Game of Thrones" star Richard Madden is playing Ikaris, one of the leaders of the Eternals.

When Ikaris is first introduced in the comics, he's undercover as a human on Earth named Ike Harris. Ikaris has the ability to fly and levitate others. He can also shoot beams of cosmic energy from his eyes and teleport if he chooses to do so.

Marvel Studios describes the character as "all powerful."

Salma Hayek is playing a gender-swapped version of Ajak.

Ajak was first introduced as a man by Kirby in the second issue of "The Eternals." The character was worshipped by the Incans as Tecumotzin and was buried deep in an Incan tomb to sleep until awoken by Ikaris. The Eternal also fought in the Trojan War.

Like Ikaris, the character can fly and has the ability to teleport. Overall, the majority of the Eternals all have similar powers.

Hayek shared her excitement for the gender-swapped role on Instagram.

"I'm so excited to join the Marvel family as Ajak, the mother of all Eternals. It used to be the father of all Eternals, but girls ... this is OUR time !!!!"Hayek wrote

Angelina Jolie is playing the role of the warrior Thena.

Thena was born in Olympia and is the daughter of Zuras (not to be mistaken with Zeus).

In the comics, she has a secret love affair with an enemy of the Eternals named Kro. Thena can also fly, has super strength, and super speed.

Don Lee (aka Dong-seok Ma) was cast as Gilgamesh, an Eternal who goes by a lot of names.

In the comics, Gilgamesh is first introduced as the Forgotten One, an Eternal which was exiled from his kind by Zuras because he spent too much time around humans.

Because of that, the character became known by several legendary aliases, including Hercules, Beowulf, and Gilgamesh. He eventually joined the Avengers in the comics.

If you're not familiar with actor Don Lee, he's a fan-favorite from the excellent zombie movie "Train to Busan,"which is available on Netflix.

"The Walking Dead" actress Lauren Ridloff is playing a gender-flipped version of Makkari.

Makkari is a speedster who's described as impatient. Makkari has a vibrant red suit and mask in the comics and was also known as Mercury.

Ridloff joined "TWD" on season nine and instantly became a fan-favorite. She will play the first deaf hero in the MCU.

Kumail Nanjiani ("Stuber") is playing Kingo, who spent years studying Samurai in Japan.

Kingo is supposed to be one of the most skilled swordsmen on Earth. He spent so much time training with Samurai that he transitioned into becoming a famous Japanese action star.

Marvel may be changing up the character a bit in the film. In the studio's official description for the movie, Kingo is described as being "cosmic-powered."

Lia McHugh is playing a gender-swapped version of Sprite who looks young, but is actually thousands of years old.

In the comics, Sprite is a young boy who is able to change his appearance. Despite looking like a young teen, the Eternal is pretty old. He just can't age. Because of that, the young-looking Eternal likes to play tricks, often at the expense of his own kind.

Brian Tyree Henry ("Atlanta") is playing Phastos.

Unlike the other Eternals, Phastos was introduced later in the comics in 1985. He still has similar powers to the rest. He's fast, strong, and can fly. Phastos is also an engineer and inventor and made Kingo's sword.

Gemma Chan plays the witch, Sersi, who adores humans.

Sersi is an Eternal who willingly lives among humans in New York City. In the comics, she becomes a member of the Avengers. It was originally thought that Angelina Jolie would play the role.

Chan's casting makes her one of just five people to play multiple Marvel characters.

"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington was cast as Dane Whitman, a non-eternal, who becomes a hero known as Black Knight.

Richard Madden won't be the only "GoT" star entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Harington's Whitman is a physicist who took over the mantle of the Black Knight from his uncle. What he didn't know was that the Black Knight was known as a supervillain. Whitman may not be super-powered like the Eternals, but he is quite skilled with a sword.

In the comics, Black Knight started a relationship with Sersi.

Read more:Kit Harington is officially joining the MCU in 'The Eternals' movie coming out next year

Barry Keoghan ("Dunkirk") will play Druig.

Druig was a member of the KGB and Ikaris' cousin. Marvel Studios describes the character as an "aloof loner." Like other Eternals, he can fly, teleport, and manipulate atoms.

There are a few noteworthy Eternals who weren't announced at Comic-Con that we're expecting to see in the movie.

Those aren't the only Eternals. There are well over 30 of them since the group's introduction in the comic. Among the ones that were not announced at Comic-Con were Zuras (Thena's father) and Domo, an immortal Eternal who answered to Zuras.
